Poem

What is a poem? A collection of thoughts?
Or is it a life story of people distraught?
One about a mother, a daughter or son
One about dying at the click of a gun,

The love in your life, Or the loss of it too
The birth of a child, so small and so new
The stars and the sky, the sun shining bright
The moon and the darkness, the fear and the fright

All different poems, yet all the same
From the hearts of strangers these storys came
If you look close enough you may even see
The tears, pain and joy of how they came to be

A tear

Post by Mystified » Sun Jun 29, 2003 8:07 am

A tear

Looking up in the starry night sky
A tear streams down my cheek as I start to cry
with my eye half closed and this crooked smile
I will stand in the dark and cry for awhile

I cry for the way that my life is now
I cry for the things that I missed some how
I cry for my children who will never know
I cry for the love that I haven't been able to show

I cry for the people who know how I feel
I cry for the faces that look like steel
I cry for the things that I took for granted
I cry for the smiles that have all been slanted

I cry for the friends that I have pushed away
I cry for the family that never stayed
I cry for the help the doctors cant provide
I cry for the way this makes us want to hide

I cry for the life that we must accept
I cry for the ones who have never wept

As I wipe away the last of my tears
I will not show anyone my real fears
As I look up in the starry night sky
I know it will be there for my next cry

* this poem is about facial palsy

"teach"

Post by Mystified » Fri Jul 04, 2003 5:41 pm

"teach"

She awakes every morning with a heart full of love
Her mind in a whirl, too much to speak of
She heads out the door, to begin her day
cranking up the tunes, her thought begin to stray

She thinks about the kids and what to do
a few lost souls, she must tend to
One is abused and the other wont say
She can see it in their eyes they want her to stay

God send me an angel, The child did pray
The first touch of love they felt that day
Walking in to class they sat at their desk
The teacher seeing the bruises so grotesque

She places a hand upon their arm
Come with me child, They can do you no more harm
She holds the child as they cry
The emotion built up, she lets out a sigh

God heard that day the prayers of the child
For he sent them an angel with a crooked smile
They called her teacher, Her love so real
Her heart pure gold and an angel was revealed

I wrote this because of a talk a friend and I had one day.

The room

Post by Mystified » Thu Jul 24, 2003 9:39 am

The room

With style and grace
she enters this place
a room full of woe
a horror she bestowed

with her head held high for the world to see
The emptiness within, not able to be free
She smiles that smile, with her eyes shining bright
but inside this place, she will be crying tonight

This place is a room with barren walls
no one can see it, or hear her calls
you see it is within her, her very own soul
life has left scars on her, it has taken its toll

A heart so sad, a room so bare
inside her soul, she is a solitare
a gem, a dimond in a setting all alone
yet no one can see her beauty, as it is unknown

So once in a while take a look around
see if that woman can be found
she is within us cant you see
everyone knows her, It is you and its me

I am with you in spirit and love. I have it too, only we can know The terror of this awful illness we hide, we don’t smile, we cover our Eyes, we can’t blink or close our eyes tightly we know the pain of The cold we can’t laugh with our children and we don’t Enter into conversations we know the pressure and the pain we live In the hope our brain repairs it in time you are not alone I share your pain and we are one.

Hi Ritchie,

Ahh.. a fellow sufferer I see. You have put alot of the emotions in few words. I agree 100%..

Hugs
