SATURN'S MANIFESTO: SCENE FOUR

Saturn’s Manifesto: Scene Four

Acting like fools.
Screaming like banshees.
Nothing gets resolved.
It’s easier to find a scapegoat
then the root of the problem.
Let’s ignore the fact
that slapping a band-aid on an issue solves nothing.
After all, this is a new day and age.
Where technology becomes the parent
and the parents become M.I.A.
While you’re distracted by what’s going on in your own backyard;
your neighbors across the water are about to go to war.
Seems like hate is brewing all over this world.
No one wants to listen
because everyone thinks their right.
Beating on their chest like Neanderthals
while everything goes to hell.
Don’t bother praying.
It’s useless and there’s really no time for that.
Even though, it’s something mankind needs more than ever.
Instead, let’s look to those in power to come to the rescue.
After all, they’d be willing to run into the line of fire unarmed.
Makes one wonder,
if common sense is truly dead.
Remember that saying,
“United we stand, divided we fall.”
Seems as though we’re falling fast.
And to think we're supposed to be civilized.
Yet, we can’t have a discussion without throwing fists.
Or having our children do the fighting for us.
Speaking of which,
when did it become acceptable
to use children as pawns for political gain?
Seems to me,
adults should learn how to fight their own damn battles.
How much more do we need to go through?
Before we wake up.
Hell, will we ever wake up?
The world is on fire
and yet we don’t seem to bat an eye.
This not progression.
This is a regression.
Putting religion before God
only puts us deeper in the depths of despair.
Hate and violence
have become the staple of society’s diet.
We have leaders living like Roman Emperors,
off of the blood, sweat and, tears of the common man.
Those in denial would have you believe otherwise.
That all is well.
Everything is okay.
Little do they know,
that down the road this too will affect them in some way.
A disease never contains itself.
It spreads like a plague.
Infecting everything and everyone.
Don’t believe the man on the telly.
He gets paid to lie to you.
Falsifying information for sensationalism.
Making statements and spreading rumors.
Only to add fuel to an unnecessary fire.
So let’s build a funeral pyre.
Because sooner or later,
mankind will need it.
I’m not a wise Sage
nor a Prophet, my friends.
Just someone who happens to be watching the play from backstage.
Only to take to the rooftops
and scream about it.
In order to be heard,
you sometimes have to be loud.
And in order to understand,
you sometimes have to remain quiet.
Something to ponder
for those who want to run at the mouth and sound foolish.
So this is scene four.
What a show indeed.
Don’t worry, my friends;
the finale is right around the corner.
The end has yet to come.
Just wait and see...

Wow. Can't wait for the finale. Or maybe I'd better watch what I wish for...
