Porch house girl

Post by kuperian4ever » Sat Jan 24, 2015 4:50 pm

Oh be it to me
You, my porch house girl
To live in fields of golden wheat
At the center of my world
I see you far from heaven
On the plains so big and wide
As the barley greens in sunshine
In you I do abide

Sing across the bounty land
My heart swells with your song
Pining on your porch of wood
I to sing along
And as the night sky sparkles
With its diamonds and its gems
Your bedroom light dispels the night
As I sing your song again

The harvest moon befalleth me
The wheat now sewn and in the mill
And you, my porch house woman
On the porch and singing still
The winds of winter blow me gone
Shall I ne’er now hear you sing
But til the breezes warm again
When you plant again in spring

I really love this. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Long winter.

is a "porch house girl" a mid western way of saying; "She's built like a brick @$#% house"?

Thank you bags123 and audiofool for your reading of my poem
I envision the proverbial farmers daughter, bags,
Looking good in the hay, Ellie May.

Heard it on my TV - bags123, something cried inside of me :darn: :crying:

Now I can't say: Looking good in the hay, Ellie May.

That would be sick. You'd have to whack me with a stick :smack:
