..remembering Tom Watson..

Post by moonflower » Sat Mar 20, 2010 1:14 pm

as many of you already know, we have lost our dear Tom to cancer on March 12..it is so devastating to have lost such a kind, gentle man.. i thought it would be appropiate to post some of his wonderful works here..though our hearts are grieving, i hope that by reading some of his talented, inspirational, timeless works of art, it can bring a small measure of comfort to all who read his words..

he will be missed more than any words can ever say..may we remember him with smiles and tender affections..

Falling

If you are falling
Stretch your heart, turn to the Sun
And float in the Wind...

...

A Senryu for the Heart

The dust falls, unseen.
Air drifts into lungs beseiged.
Fall's spring cleaning starts.

...

Tomorrows Storms

silence and new frost
wait till winds whispers lose them
to blizzard's packed ice

...

Close Separation

Though much of the darkness
That once made my life a mess
Has fled from the Light in my heart,
I still see that the dark
And I are not so far apart.

...

California Dreamin'

Leaves wither in flame
Water flies as misty dust...
---California---

...

Fall Scenes

I look out my door
And see partly naked trees...
Fall scattered their leaves...

...

Cleansed Roses

I've got a dozen...
roses, black and bloody red,
drying in my heart

Lost in your long loss...
I hold back their gift, their pain
And wait for the rain...

The rain to wash the dirt...
the last lonely piece of crust,
Making your rose white......

...

Rain Falls

Rain falls…tiny drops
Puddle, pond, lake, river…sea
Drown me in Your flood

...

Sounds of Silence

Words, in your silence,
Spoken by a heart in pain
Mute my soul again...

...

Sinews of Faith

The sinews of faith
Lift us from life's muddy road
Through His loving grace

...

Journeys

Your journey ended
When your father wiped your tears
In dreams beyond death

My journey began
When my Father found my soul
While I searched for you

...

The Waiting Season

Where is the green grass?
Waiting in brown, beneath snow,
For resurrection

...

Misty Kiss

Drift upon me fog.
Grey and mist wrap me softly...
Wetly plant your kiss.

...

Rain

S-h-h-h! Listen! It comes...
Its moan rustles in the leaves
And the windmill hums...

Grass trembles with joy...
Raindrops slide in dusty trails...
Droughts die in puddles....

...

**Tree**

Its bark has no bite;
Wind bent, weather scourged;
Shelter...renews life

...

Haiku

Within These Three Lines
Nature lives in words and wind,
Brushing the heart's soul.

...

God Is

No matter the cloth you dress him in;
No matter the design you give his face;
No matter the winds that lift waves beyond the sands;
No matter the war dead filling this place...

God Is
Dressed in the mists of mystery.
God is
An ethereal image of grace.
God is
The shelter beyond life's furies.
God is
Love beyond dust bound graves.

Before the Sun chased the Moon;
Before the pebbles became snow capped peaks;
Before the lake heard the calling Loon;
Before the womb brought breath to speak...

God Is
Hanger of lights surrounding this world.
God is
Potter of mountains, pourer of seas.
God is
Giver of life's music as now heard.
God is
The whisper of life flowing to eternity.

Even after grey follows the baby's fresh face;
Even after the tears and pain;
Even after brown covers the once green place;
Even after a breath is taken then never again...

God is
The rejuvenating promise.
God is
The cleanser of sorrows and hurt.
God is
The gardener of Spring's eternal mists.
God is
The victory beyond, where laughter and joy is heard.

God Is

Tom Was not only a Gentle man but a very Talented and a Wise Man. Long may we learn from his words.Take Care
Take me back, so far back, adjust this fate. Afeared lately of pen, in abscence of light. The fear I might stumble upon a plagiarized soul. Wipe this dark slate clean, regain my thought. Add the words that rekindle my depth of soul.

From: Summers Discontent 7-24-02

Sincerely

His poetry and his beliefs will last for many summers and bring succor and faith to many a tired spirit that has need of it- when they least expect it, as they pause one day in any of our Forums. ____BeeJay

R.I.P. Tom, so many are being taken by this vicious disease... I knew you vaguely through these forums but I know you had a good heart. I hope your transition was easy & all is what you dreamed.

I have no poem to offer right this moment but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today.
I watched the free world become slaves without them even knowing it, I only hope they can free themselves before it is too late.
