Invisible soldiers

Post by Queen » Tue Dec 07, 2010 11:01 pm

Invisble soilders

Day after day my kind is defined by the minds
of those who know not
time after time I do hear the chime of voices
who's souls are near rot

Be it as it may the words that they say
are that of a jesters best jest
but they follow like fools on an idiots fuel
of any near minds best guess

They come and they go proclaiming to know secrets
of the magicians best act
why? because they came to the show, sat in the back row
and peered through glasses much cracked?

We are an army marred and invisibly scared
soldiers fighting for life
discarded, ignored and labeled as bored
no purple hearts for a mother or wife

As i pray for the the day my daughter moves away
and becomes something better than me
I've even convinced my own common sense
a simple mother and wife, is not what I want her to be

Day after day my kind is defined by the minds
of those who know not
time after time I do hear the chime of voices speaking of
battles.........they have not fought.

They also serve who keep the home fires burning.More opportunities exist these days for girls to aspire to be somethin other than wives and mothers. But motherhood is still the highest calling

I don't know. For some reason I thought I remember your poems as being a bit lighter in theme. This one strikes me as being very dark. Hopeless in fact.
I don't mind feeling puzzled by the ending of a poem, as much as feeling disturbed by its hopelessness. I'm really not a big fan of classical music either, especially Opera,..which I find tedious at best,..so I'm probably not a very good critic. AC/DC's kind of like my Beethoven. I'm just saying....

The highest calling is the opportunity to use the brain power you were born with.

i would agree that just being a mother is not special especially if you suck at it. but to be a good mother you have to give up a little bit of your deepest self to ensure that your children are given everything thing the NEED!...... bruno i'm assuming ur a dude.....
