Jesus Fix

Post by audiofool » Mon Nov 22, 2010 7:26 am

humble, unassuming
a bit player on the stage
in shackles of sanctimony
without honor, without a home

hang the penitent thief
alone at the crossroads
woman at the well
wishing for a mighty flood

compassion camouflaged
in Samaritan veil
dressing the wounds
of the latest fashion victims

Jesus fix your gaze
on lost sheep like me
grant a vision of heaven
that the blind may see

from the judge's chair
over circumstance and time
teach these bones to dance
to songs of sleep sublime

to make amends
the enemy sends a signal
springs of hope eternal
welling up in gratitude

in a rage I defiled
the only child of the Father
the Sun of our mourning
raising earnest expectations

I realize upon reflection
in pools of disbelief
wading into substance
finding sweet and sure relief

Jesus fix your eyes
on my fragile condition
wash from me the stains
of indifference and suspicion

from your perch
beyond death and dismay
breathe life never-ending
and roll the stone away.

Why aren't more peeps commenting on this? We spend too much damn time in O.D. that we forget this place is about poetry and stories and such.. A bunch of damn slackers around here.

Good poem Audio.. I need my Gesu (That's Jesus in Italian) fix every day or I go bonkers. Actually, if I didn't have Gesu I'd probably end up like one of my realitives in prison or hustling on the streets somewhere. I've got a lot to be thankful for having Him in my life.
