Poet Laureate nominations now closed

Post by heinzs » Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:47 am

The nominations for our next PoetryPages Poet Laureate are open. Please nominate your choice as a reply to this topic. Nominees will be canvassed and must accept the nomination to be eligible. Choice will be made by poll or independent panel. Term of "office" will be 6 months beginning in May of 2007. I am considering lengthening the term and am open to comments or suggestions.

I'll happily start the ball rolling with a nomination for Drew Rush.

I closed this too soon. Poets Laureate are required to accept the nomination before being elected. My bad. I haven't checked with any of these candidates yet. Poll is cancelled and will be put back up when appropriate.

Thanks for bearing with me in my dotage.

Negatvone and buttterflies have confirmed their acceptance of the nomination. Drew has respectfully declined. I'm open to additional nominations, but will close them by this coming Saturday. I hope to get the poll going then as well.
