Scarred Sacred

Maybe just for Thomas
The evidence of Your inflictions
You did keep

Maybe just for him
or maybe also for me
to see

Why your wounds
were not erased
I can not surely say

Perhaps for artist stroke
or sculptors
molded clay

No matter what cause,
you kept them all and
I ask you to comply

Please let me
keep my scars
to remind me
I didn't die
and why
