Her Laugh Is Such A Pretty Thing

Post by Eternum 1 » Sat Feb 18, 2006 9:26 pm

Her laugh is such a pretty thing
touching his ear like a butterfly wing

He laughs back at her happy screams
with baritone pitch his glad heart sings

Easily breaking his dolorous gloom
her impish tones turn night into noon

Though he be scarred like the man in the moon
she clothes him in sunlight and life's perfume

This gruff old bird is like a duck out of water
in the eyes of his precocious sweet daughter

His selfish dreams lie like dust upon the altar
her tiny hand in his, has made him a father

Nice poem, it tells a wonderful story. The father/daughter relationship is a special bond, your poem is a good tribute to that.

Hi Heinz,

Recovering, albeit much more slowly than I expected from my mishap in the mountains. The accident and the subsequent climb through the snow was followed a week later by a head cold that developed into laryngitis and pneumonia. I've beaten the infections so far but still haven't recovered my voice.

My new physician admonished me severely for waiting so long to get some antibiotics. Seems they don't believe hot rum toddies are effective as a home remedy. But I'm willing to try it their way if I can get my voice back.

regards,

ET

Well, if I had the hot rum toddies I wouldn't worry about my voice... I don't have that much to say anyway...

Hope you continue to recover in rapid time...
