**I found my God in her...** Poem of the Week: 12.11.05
Winner: Poem of the Week: December 11, 2005
I Found My God in Her
by Friend_Forever
I coughed until I became red in the face
While reading those ancient scriptures…
My eyes grew weary with tears…
Yet him I could not find…
I sought his face in the white clouds of the sky
I looked for his trace everywhere
Yet he was never there…
I sought to visualize his presence
I aimed at putting a face to this soulful one
Yet all my drawings found the bin
Because my sketches were never really him…
I medicated daily to sense his presence
I looked at the sunrise
And wondered how one could create something this beautiful
Yet… he never showed me his true self…
I climbed mountains…
With a big sack full of problems
I reached the mountaintops…
And my bag got lighter with each step…
Expecting to meet the divine one at the top…
A beautiful valley with beautiful white snow
The snow shining brightly to my face, making my face warm…
The Old one’s miracles brought a smile to my face
But did not serve my purpose…
I played with beautiful fish under the lakes
I smiled at all the colors that I saw…
I touched God’s wonders 10 feet under the sea
Yet my God I still seeked…
Tired and lonely…
Beaten by my unending search,
I returned to my nest at dusk
Silently gazing at the beautiful stars,
Searching for a face between the clutter,
I finally found what I seeked for so long…
My mother’s welcoming arms were his arms
My mother’s warm hugs were his lovely blessing
Her womb gave birth to me, just the way he intended it to be
I am her child, which makes me proud to be me
Her kisses lingered on my cheeks for a little longer
Surely He was caressing me lovingly…
Her warm, comforting strength
Gives me power to move on with life…
Just like My lord gives me the strength to love with all my might…
Her belief in me reflects the trust that my Lord has in me
Her smile always manages to chase the dark away
Just like His name drives the devils away…
When she pats my back… after I have done well
I feel his hands patting me through her touch
She protected me when I was a small baby…
Just like my lord protects his children in this world…
Her laughter and soft chuckles
Remind me of wind chimes that bring one luck
Her tears can calm a raging ocean within me
Her advice and wise words
Have taken me through lots of tough scrapes
Indeed… I have finally found whom I so desperately sought
I found my lord, living within my mom…
And there I ended my search
On the arms of that lovely woman…

This is where my spiritual search ends... what say you?

And as I watch you in this light
I never realized your eyes were full of
So many colors.

... and his words purge up and outward,
expelled and onward through desert dust swallowed,
sands he says that gorge on simple sensibilities.
And, now he spits fragments, grit, extended vowels and elongated syllables
over cracked lips. Their sounds fall
piling round his boots… ~ jeannerené

<i>"And she told him how it was Forgall had gone to Emain, and had advised him to go and learn warriors’ feats, the way they two might not meet again. Then each of them promised to be true to the other till they would meet again, unless death should come between them, and they said farewell to one another, and Cuchulain turned towards Alban."</i> ~The Courting of Emer
