As it worked out, I was named for my mother's brother who was named Gerald Francis. By happenstance the first born male on my fathers side of the family traditionally always had the middle name of "Francis" for something like 10 generations back. My oldest son is named Isak Francis,.....Isak being another one of his forebears on my Dad's side of the family. Like me,...as a kid he hated his middle name,....but now he likes it. I think it's an aquired taste that grows with repitition.

It's rather saintly.

:hello:

I like that tradition-naming stuff. Because of our beliefs at the time, we picked biblical first names for our children and then family middle names. My son has two middle names though. I know...slap me!

I like the more traditional names too. Love biblical names. If my last daughter had been a boy I was going to name him Timothy. As it turned out she was a girl,...and got named Audrey Ann.
lets see from top to bottom my kids are Isak, Andy, Nick, Audrey, Stephanie, and Alexis. The last two are my adopted daughters,...but they grew up with me. They were 4 and 6 when Judy and I got married. :computer:

May I also add my congratulations?

I'm a relative newcomer to PP but Bags you have been a source of encouragement for which I thank you.

It's always a little traumatic to burst into verse but you made the initiation (almost) painless.

Unfortunately occupational commitments keep me away from PP more than I would like but in the immortal words of Granny Weatherwax 'I aint ded"

Kudos cobber - and thanks!
