A Tanka

Post by wblogan » Tue Oct 27, 2009 1:17 pm

Tankas traditionally are unnamed.
If it were named, it would be;
    "Akimbo[laughing, with death in the room]"
      heron slips and flails
      long crazy dancer rising
      a frog chorus laughs
        taking flight to come again
        silent death and dawn's first touch
        :critique:

        A haiku with two additional lines of 7 syllables:

        5
        7
        5

        7
        7

        These are often created as a collaboration between two poets... one creats the haiku and the second creates the "answer" in the couplet.
