WARNING: there's a few swear words
Tonight was a mistake
That's one thing I'll say
Momma's birthday
A time to be happy
A day to celebrate
That we did
As we toasted
He started with a glass
And then a few more
The next thing I know Momma's pinned to the door
He's drunk as Hell
A fucking alcoholic relapsing
I try to help, but it's her arms he's clasping
I step in
And that was a mistake
As he thrashed around and kicked my leg
Momma punched him
I pinched him so hard
This is leaving me scarred
He has her and wont let go
I ball up my fist and another punch I throw
He throws a punch as Momma ducks
He keeps saying he just wants a few fucks
The door cracks open and I scream
I wish this was all just a bad dream
I scream for help, but there's no reply
I keep wondering if we are gonna die
He breaks down and we all start to cry
From Momma's punch he now has a black eye
We all go out for a couple of smokes
He seems to think this was all a few jokes

Re: October the 2nd... Hell
It is never easy being the witness without a way to end what we see and hear and become absorbed into. I wish there was a way, an easy answer but the truth is we must endure hell to become able to stand on the other side.
If I was a praying man I would offer that solace but as it stands all I can offer is a kind word of hope and and knowing shoulder to lean on...

Thank you so much. This was very hard for me to write.
