Eavesdropping On A Goodnight Kiss

Post by DarleneG » Mon Jun 18, 2012 7:36 pm

Look at night in his suit of gray,
Bending low to kiss the day.
She's so modest, timid shy,
That's her blush in the Western sky.

Deepening it lingers there,
As peeping stars come out to stare.
But even they cannot persuade
Night to raise his pulled down shade.

Thanks, Travis, I'm pleased you liked it. Most of my poems are written for children, and are funny. But I do write nature poems, too, like this one. I wonder if there are any children's poets here? I'd like to connect with them and read their work and share mine with them.

Simply beautiful, Darlene!

A Nature/Love/Sentimental poem that combines the best elements of all three! Fantastic!
