Finding My Way

Post by Eric » Thu Jun 14, 2012 9:01 am

In my life ... I've lived with such regret
Avoiding some things ... I can not forget
Struggling daily with these pains inside
A need to find a place to hide
Fallen, stricken, so hard to move
Why can't I get past it or simple remove
I have reached this point ... as I reflect on life
And anger myself ... because I chose such strife
So many decisions I had to breathe!
So many drugs taken ... so that I can relieve
But where has this gotten me? Now that I look to the past
Yet all that time lost ... is seeming so vast
I see who I am and whom I have become
I cringe at the thought; of where I have fought from
Can there be something, that could take away all this pain?
And help me dry off from all this dam rain
I'm not so sure I can make it or if I will achieve
If I have what it takes ... to roll up my sleeve
To continue this battle, while I am here alone
If I am going to make it ... I need to find my way home

Again, I can relate to this...thanks for sharing... :bump:  :crying:

~Travis

I am reminded of what Robert Hastings said... thought I'd share:

" Sooner or later, however, we must realize there is no station in this life, no one earthly
place to arrive at once and for all. The journey is the joy. The station is an illusion--it
constantly outdistances us. Yesterday's a memory, tomorrow's a dream. Yesterday belongs to a
history, tomorrow belongs to God. Yesterday's a fading sunset, tomorrow's a faint sunrise. Only
today is there light enough to love and live.

So, gently close the door on yesterday and throw the key away. It isn't the burdens of today
that drive men mad, but rather regret over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow. Regret and
fear are twin thieves who would rob us of today.

So stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead, swim more rivers, climb more
mountains, kiss more babies, count more stars. Laugh more and cry less. Go barefoot oftener.
Eat more ice cream. Ride more merry-go-rounds. Watch more sunsets. Life must be lived as we
go along. The station will come soon enough."
