In honor of Flag Day 2012:

I am your conscience
Buried in deceit
Political correctness
Red tape and greed

I am history
Preserved so we don’t forget
Where our freedoms came from
Sadly, though I am rewritten
To soothe itching ears
Give what you want to hear
Wrong or right

I am your sons and daughters
Grandparents, spouse or friend
Who have fought to protect freedoms
We take for granted

I am the red, white, and blue
More than a symbol
Which some to choose to burn
And where respect for it and others begins at home
No amendment can ever teach it

I am honor and duty
Representing an oath to fight all enemies
Foreign and domestic
Under the command of no one
But the United States of America!

I am one Nation under God
Liberty and justice for all
Built on the foundations of faith and brotherhood
Should I give up sovereignty
I no longer exist
You no longer exist

So may God help us to remember…

The sorrow
The Sacrifice
The Glory
The Honor

I am your flag
I am your conscience
I am your country…
