A one way street
You're way
One direction
Solid yellow lines
No passing zone
One poisonous arrow
Full control
Sharp turns
Steep hills
The ups and downs
A rickety roller-coaster races
This merry-go-round
Spinning and turning
Needing to stop
Let me off
Dizzy
Delirious
Distraught
A fool along for the joyride
But there is no joy
Time to make a U-turn
Go the other way
My way
Wheels turn and peal out
Cry and squeal out
Screeching
Spinning
A cloud of dust swirling
The painful past behind me
Moving on
Rear view mirror broken
I won't look back…
