They deemed him mad!
His speech glottal
and unintelligible,
eyes blank,
with a long faraway stare,
the pupils
a peculiar yellow,
with an unsettling sheen,
and, to their discomfort,
he had two extra teeth.
But, in all other aspects,
an human.
He was not treated
too unkindly.
They did not understand him,
therefore, they were afraid.
At first,
he refused to eat,
but then,
like all men,
he hungered,
and deigned to partake
of a little coarse bread,
and, when his parched lips,
sored over,
painfully sipped-in,
clear well-water.
Locked in a plain
stone room,
spartan in its simplicity,
he survived for
two months and five days.
Refused burial
by the local parish priest,
he lay in a field,
no headstone.
As the years past,
his burial site
and his prior existence...
Forgotten...
THE ALIEN.

HI, People that are different, never seem to fit in or be acccepted. How sad. But you said it well and I enjoyed your poem. I'm surprised no one else replied yet! They don't know what they are missing!

D.G..
Pleased that this meant something to you. The surprise is that, a piece that I feel, when penned, was light weight, gets more attention than I would have thought to see!
