Still Standing

I dont want to feel that pain
The one I have carried since my youth
I have been drenched from all this rain
Just seeking for its truth

I know it has been dark some days
I desperately tried to hold on tight
I survived this life, so many ways
Even created some needed light

Could you really bare to hear?
How down in this life I was
I dont want you to shed a tear
Because I know I've been the cause

I find myself looking inside
Trying to figure why I paid such toll
Its was hard to grasp my pride
In a life out of control

Was I running through the trees
With no directions in my mind
How did I miss that steady breeze
That would have helped me find

I have not had much help in life
It was so few but even fewer cared
I have removed that sharpened knife
For some reason I've been spared

I am taking all I had to learn
Expecially the down times and the bad
Because of what I got from life
For those hard times I am glad

I'm stronger now, than I have ever been
I know soon, you'll see me standing tall?
I faced these battles and I had to win
Because I stood when I did fall!
