Somethings Remain the Same

I feel I reached my new beginning ... I know I can survive
Placed my thoughts, so deep inside … long enough for me to thrive
Faced my days, not guessing … Doing everything I should
I will even go as-far-to say … I did what I never thought I could
My isolation has disintegrated … I feel even more that I belong
I felt it when I woke today … My body again! It's feeling strong
My conscience is still so far from clean … I will never shake this from my mind
If you looked into my memories … you may not like, what you might find
But I live each day with new appeal … I try to learn and make the best
I have been challenged, so much in life … Yet I still breathe, I passed the test
I found someone to hope for … I have planned myself new dreams
I know that I can stay afloat … in many different streams
But something still, it digs at me … It comes to steal my rest
It climbs into my body at night … I feel it in my chest
If everything that I have changed … is so far from who I blame?
Then have I really changed? …. For somethings remain the same!
