My Favourite Eye

I can see with my eyes closed
I can even see the moon
With my blue closed eyes.
I open them to see illusions
Of a strange, solid kind.
On a bad day I believe they are real
Until it starts to feel
That they are not
What they seem
To feel.

My favourite eye is in the middle of my hand.
It makes me understand
That I don't quite understand
What I don't quite understand.
May I look into your hand?
To see what you can see.
To find out if it's the same
For both of you, and both of me.

My second favourite eye is the left one in my face.
It sucks things in
Conceals without a trace.
Somewhere deep inside my mind
I'll happen to find
A deeper recess of my mind
Where I will see a face
I thought was lost
Without a trace.

My third favourite eye is opposite the other.
I suppose that they are brothers
For they look like each other
But not at each other
Except in reflection
For a much closer inspection
Of who they really are.
The left one's lost it.
The right one's gone too far.

I think my favorite eye is the one in the middle of my forehead... Now if only I could figure out how to close it at night so I could sleep.
