I hear the words spoken lightly
The smile given freely
And the look shared carelessly
Yet as I approach
The words turn to icy shrapnel,
I take cover behind my manhood
I seek solace in my mortality,
Ye the shattered smile haunts me deeper,
It shatters all in its path
I cry for a release and beg for mercy,
Yet the look cares not about my weak heart
Nor my sensitive soul
It simply crushes all that I am
I am begging for mercy
Yet do you dare listen
Do you dare relent?
I wish you would
After all I am only HUMAN!!!

Re: Sthembiso
I acn feel the rejection in this piece, maybe because I am feeling it anyway... But either way, I can really relate.
Nice work!

One loses interest
in that
which bears no mystery,
And holds no promise...

Yes there is a lot of rejection in it, and thanx for the feedback.
