I sort of have a confession to make. I'll do it via poetry, which only seems fitting.
Yes, my sad black haired girl
You are still here in my world
A cherished imprint on my heart
You really opened my eyes
So strong, worldly wise
I was shattered when we had to part
Now as our girls grow
They have both come to know
The beauty and grace of their mother
But there was empty space
Where I can never replace
Your presence within with another
So much time has sped by
And just lately my eye
Has been caught by a gaze kind and loving
We engage in the dance
Of our budding romance
Spending our nights turtle doving
But my heart turns to you
And I feel that you knew
Each time we've embraced and I've kissed her
That in giving us space
You would not be replaced
Simply joined in my heart by your sister
Yes, my sad black haired girl
You are still here in my world
A cherished imprint on my heart
You really opened my eyes
So strong, worldly wise
I was shattered when we had to part
Now as our girls grow
They have both come to know
The beauty and grace of their mother
But there was empty space
Where I can never replace
Your presence within with another
So much time has sped by
And just lately my eye
Has been caught by a gaze kind and loving

Spending our nights turtle doving
But my heart turns to you
And I feel that you knew
Each time we've embraced and I've kissed her
That in giving us space
You would not be replaced
Simply joined in my heart by your sister
