Shutting Down

Post by The Ravyn » Thu Oct 23, 2003 11:08 pm

humming dynamos run to
fever pitch
grating overworked turbines
acrid ozone reek
impending disaster screaming
overamped and underlubricated
spinning wildly until
just prior to meltdown
someone throws the switch
to the off position
and the machinery shuts down

(and sleep takes me
off to another land
once again)

We cut it closer each day, each month. waiting for the moment that we find someone has snuck in and detached the saving switch.
