BUILD YOUR OWN INN

Oft times you may wonder
who's dealing life's cards
Turmoil tosses you asunder
Hands left bleeding
from broken heart shards

Perhaps you scream skyward
accusations of unfair odds
or lay morose, without words
as your mundane life
slowly plods

Still yet, you may sit expectantly
waiting for the wheel to spin again
Hopelessly moping, uncoping, pessimisticlly
waiting for the inevitable
trouble to begin

All the while waiting for your Gepetto god
to pull your stagnant strings
"If God really loved me," you say
"He would fix these horrible things"

Yet there was One born
who slept with sheep food
in a shepard's stall
only to become a carpenter
and build mansions for us all

So no matter how your dice may roll
or if someone else
seems to always win the pot
The key to keeping a peaceful soul--
"Build what you can, with what you got"

POINTY PARTS

I can see the beauty
In the scent and sight of a rose
I look past the pointy parts
Realizing they're a part of growth

I can see the beauty
In the sweet smile of a child
I look past the pointy parts
Realizing we all are a child

I can see the beauty
In the life and love of my wife
I look past the pointy parts
Realizing we all go through strife

I can see the beauty
In the Glory and Grace of my God
He looks past my pointy parts
And covers them all with a hug

only for you

Every moment not seeing you, a moment spent blind
Every day not being with you, a waste of time
Every hour away from you, a wasted hour
Every minute not kissing you, bitter and sour

Every moment not talking to you, I'm dumb
Every day not touching you, I'm numb
Every hour not hearing you, I'm deaf
Every minute not near you, a moment closer to death

Every moment seeing you, a heavenly sight
Every day being with you, sunny and bright
Every hour spent with you, makes me complete
Every minute kissing you, tender and sweet

Every moment talking to you, music to my ears
Every day touching you, I lose all my fears
Every hour hearing you, makes me smile
Every minute near you, makes life worthwhile

Every second of my life, only for YOU

Because He Forgave Me Much

He took me from a blood soaked bed
Of my own making
Snatched me from the grips of death
And said, "satan, he's not for the taking"

He healed me but He left the scars
To remind me just where I'd been
He gave me a brand new heart
And let me start over again

Yes even though I was left for dead
And headed straight for the grave
For me, His blood was shed
And by his grace I am saved

I don't know why he chose me
But I'll thank him all of my days
For the cross and calvary
I will give Him all of my praise

Because He forgave me much
I love Him so much more
He slammed hell's gate with one touch
And opened wide heavens door

ALL IS WELL

God sent Jonah on a journey
However, Jonah willfully went the wrong way
And was tossed into a sea of circumstances
Which swallowed him up, as he went astray

Yet if you keep God's plan in your sights
and you determine by faith to persevere
Eventually the fish must spit you out on dry land
whether you're in for three days or thirty three years

Because all the while, through life's trials
Jesus is riding with you in the whale

The Samaritan went searching in the heat of the day
For relief from the thirst in her life's daily grind
She repeatedly came to the same reliable old well
Expecting the same temporary fix, she thought she'd always find

But this time, she found a man, offering a better way
Planted firmly in front of her past,, covering it up
Leaving her the choice of pushing past, continuing in thirst and pain
Or forever drinking from his endless cup

All the while, through all of her trials
Jesus is sitting on her well

Mary couldn't bear the sight of her son
Slowly dying on the cruel roman cross
His last words leaving his lips, causing her to scream
Into the sky, and fall, weakened by her apparent loss

All the while, through all of her trials
Jesus was rising up, above her wail
