afternoon light on
the kitchen table
laps up the tea
from cup to cup,
heat where you
touched, passed from
my hand and stayed
in the sound
of song breaking
from your
throat, sweet and
comforting as the
touch of your hand
brushing the hair
from my eyes to see
if they move,
light shifts, strings
of pearls tapping along
the tables edge
indescribable beauty
waits the new moon
manzano covered
behind the last
pitch in the autumn
sky. what would i give
to sit at that
table until
the next rise of light
watching the
changes of shadows
lift your face
from the places
it is kept. i would
give you the cup
that my hand
had touched, your fingers
covering mine
one moment longer

Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly.

Well done Anusura!

Thank you Richard, and to you also: The Highwayman is a very fine piece - one of my favorites.
