Art on Display
by Miyu
notice outside the sky is a fading blue
almost like gray, but the sun makes it
glistens on an August morning like what
our chandeliers do almost every evening
although tonight it seems like our clock
is consuming at the time as i lay listening
to the sound of your heartbeat as it
pounds inside my head and rythmatically
but here i lay once again holding you
and wanting to wrap your heart inside a
tourniquet to keep it from breaking in me
although i figured i might as well let go
and keep you breathing since being with
me, seems to be suffocating you... alive
i moved on watching you like a delicate
bouquet, or a piece of fine art on display
still, i'd rain for you like i do every spring
and even if you hate me now or still do
in the end i'd hate me too, because i'm a
fool for chasing after your fragile image
when i knew the reflection in the puddle
would never stay clear or still like it used to
