A Lesson Learned From Me To You

When you take the time…
A day or two…
Remember life is pure
and true
Despite pretentious
ballyhoo
Which limits what
we say and do
I’m glad my eyes were
forced to view
The consequence
which I outgrew
Yes… there was a day
when hitherto
I walked dark streets
and avenues
Substance was sold
at rendezvous
My corruptions source
of revenue
I wore my sins like
proud tattoos
And searched to find
the next taboo

One day I found
my “Waterloo”
Alone… my horse had
thrown it’s shoe
Contorted like
a steel corkscrew
on tile which smelled
of rank mildew
I prayed to God
for his rescue
Then realized soon
I had to spew

Within that moment’s
cold igloo
The icy floor of
my breakthrough
Discarded garbage…
Used tissue…
Human debris in
pukes fondue
I agonized what I’d
been through
And how my life
had gone askew
A needle scarred
the souls debut
But here it sat
for my review
It’s image came
so impromptu
I scared myself with
its issue
To find my life had
true value
A lesson learned
from me to you.

Congrats ......Bags........Hip Hip Hooray!!!

... and his words purge up and outward,
expelled and onward through desert dust swallowed,
sands he says that gorge on simple sensibilities.
And, now he spits fragments, grit, extended vowels and elongated syllables
over cracked lips. Their sounds fall
piling round his boots…
