I’m here.
In the middle
Of mumble jumble
And lost in the
Confusing world
But there...
I would be loved
By the person I love
With his strong hand
To hold onto in need
But...
I’m here
Drowning in sounds
That cancel out
His voice that’s calming
Loosing patience with
This and that
But there...
I could be heard
By his ear as he listens
To my pondering heart
And make it all bearable
But...
I’m here
Waving at a shadow
Not going anywhere
Glued to the ground
Bound to this pain
But there...
I would be floating
In an ocean
Of once shed tears
That no longer
Have any meaning
When all's said and done
But...
I’m here
With no one to pull
Me up to sit
With him
On the throne
Of love and happiness
With no one
To silence my screams
Pleads for forgiveness
Cries of pain
Sobs of remorse
Empty loneliness
I’m here
Never leaving
