Graduation Day

Post by Inurooshi » Thu Sep 27, 2007 4:10 pm

Its graduation,
the time sure has sped on by,
leaving us with broken friendships,
hearts aches, throbbing,

What will become of this,
Become of our friendship?
The joyous debates of the early morn,
The lazy chats till dusk,

What will become of the worn oak table,
where we sat debating over politics, history, and all subjects,
What will become of the secret messages we pass,
as the teacher’s tirade drones on timelessly,

What will happen to those crisp clean mornings,
those hazy rainy days,
where we lifted each other’s spirits,
where we held each other,

What will become of all these things?
Those hours we spent in those clubs,
Giggling laughing, full of careless joy,
What will become of that?

All that awaits is college,
and drafty promises,
Will you really come back,
Or will I lose you and be left with memories?

Why must we graduate?
lets live in these carefree moments,
where our true nature comes through,
where we are truly ourselves.

this is very good! makes me remember my high school friends, as we all promised to keep in touch, but the only contact we keep is online. sad as it is, it's part of life. one of the hardest things for me to accept that my mom always told me is "people come and people go"
great write!
