His Unreadable Soul

inside me
live
the tattered remains
of a soul that once loved
and was never loved in return
which now walks me through each day
in a daze
only seeing
-HIS-
face:
the piercing blue eyes
the chiseled features
the slim yet toned build.
I memorize each aspect
knowing that I will never get the chance
to really see
to really understand
what lies behind
that magnificent
-UNREADABLE-
face.
I will never know
a single thought or desire
from that troubled
-SOUL-
the one that is so like mine.
