Summer is leaving again,
Carrying with him a trunk of memories.
Both good and bad.
Those times when you and your friends went to the beach;
Just to hang,
To pass the time by.
Times where you went through a painful
Break-up with the one you truly loved.
Well,
Say goodbye.
Say goodbye to those summer flings;
Staying up all night with your friend-
Talking about that hottie you just snatched.
Say goodbye to late nights
And sleeping in...
Everyday.
Say goodbye to going out to hang with that
Friend who is just visting.
Beautiful weather;
Lots of sun-
And sun burn.
Few clouds here and there,
And a refreshing breeze.
All a vivid,
But distant memory now.
Say goodbye to the movie marathons,
Alone and with frinds.
So long to those nights that you
Cried for that special person.
Adios to those days where you felt
So alone and no one is out there.
And to those rare days where
You hooked up with someone you barely knew-
Or your best-friend-
Or your best-friend's lover.
Let go of those grudges,
The drama,
The hate,
And the anger.
Be happy,
Be sad,
But realize that summer is gone.
Walking into the past-
Along with whatever has happened.
Look forward now,
And remember this summer-
But never re-live it.
