Ode To The Old

Post by bags123 » Tue Jan 28, 2014 9:25 am

Ode To The Old

An Ode to the old ones
continually trying
to avoid growing cynical
Despite all the odds
For each year adds it's weight
to the scales of their fate
But their pasts were so fast
they went flying.

There were times when their faces
weren't sewn by the years
When a song they'd sing proudly
would cover their tears
And despite all the odds,
and their numerous jobs,
they survived through it all,
and quite nicely.

An Ode to the old ones
who soon may start dieing
Still unhypocritical
Unlike their own Gods
Every moment unfolds
into something they treasure
But their pasts were so fast
they went flying.
