Northwards
From the smog cloaked city,
From the endless cars
And movement,
To mountains under a blue sky
And alive with wind
And early spring.
Clouds of pink blossoms
Dress the hills
Crowned by the ancient wall.
Slowly now!
Bumping upward
On dusty dirt roads
And through rural China.
We spring from the bus
And climb gleefully up
The granite path and steps
Until we run out of breath
And listen to the cry
Of a hawk.

Wonderful descriptive verse. Sounds like a beautiful place.
