Death of a Star

Post by Jadynara » Thu Jan 12, 2012 6:45 am

There's sweet sorrow in this.
The star of us
suddenly running out of hydrogen
I gave all of me
to keep us burning

Oh how you watched me
in simple fascination
giving so little in return
until we got to the point
we could not sustain
with out your input

I asked you to trickle in
help compose
the means of combustion
I begged you for it
but you refused to share
yourself with me

Instead you provided the explosion
After which
our light winked out.
So we're lost, at least we've found each other. Take my hand, if we can't find our way out of the dark, we can make our own light. - Nicole M. Goretzke 2011

They say the starlight we see tonight travelled thousands, if not millions of years to get here. By now many of the stars that originally shed some of their light our way are long since dead. Mere cinders floating in the vacuum of space. Barely retaining perhaps,.... any memory of their once, combustible state . But,.... all things must pass. It's the nature of things. :computer:
