A boy that I graduated with lost his 11 year old sister October 18, 2008. I got to know her by being a part of my high school's marching band. She was a great little girl and it is sad that she is gone.
God's Angel: Emily Deem
What a sweet innocent child
With and attitude ever so mild
She always enjoyed being with the band
She was born with a flag in her hand
Taken from us at a young age
It was what God had in her page
She may be gone from this place
But we will soon get to see her beautiful face
She has gone to a better place
But she will always be watching over us with a smile on her face
I am thinking about framing this and giving it to the family at her viewing on Wednesday. I don't know exactly how to put what I feel into words, so this is the best I could do.

Thank you both. I did give it to them this evening at the viewing. They really appreciated it. It is something they will be able to hang on their wall and know that she was loved by so many people and that she will always be watching over us.

Thanks Moon. It is something that is very hard to go through. The 24th was our last football game and it was also the day after her funeral. It was weird not to see her running around next to the band, but I know she was there with us all.
