Abandoned Treasure~ For Joan

Post by AlluraD » Mon Sep 19, 2005 4:47 pm

It was a solitary path she walked.
Her years of life flew by like sifted sand
Through fingers spread not made to house a day.
To heaven’s eye she raised her empty hand.

Surrendering to numbing, mindless pain
She lay exhausted on a storm strewn beach.
Dissolved and blown away by time’s harsh breath,
Then swallowed by a sea beyond her reach.

The turbulence of teeming wind and waves
Yields polished glass the lonely dreamer saves.

A sad poem Allura...and I felt such a loneliness to it..and the image of those hands with fingers opened stretched towards the heavens was very vivid in my mind..

Debbie~
Thank you for reading this one......yes....there was much sadness and lonliness both. My sister committed suicide a long time ago....over 2o years ago...after being emotinally and mentally ill for a long time.....she was of genius intellect and a very unique and very cool person...but very sad. Thanks for not letting this piece die an early death~

The pain is there ...... but the love prevails.........

...thank you for sharing...

...jeanne...
... and his words purge up and outward,
expelled and onward through desert dust swallowed,
sands he says that gorge on simple sensibilities.
And, now he spits fragments, grit, extended vowels and elongated syllables
over cracked lips. Their sounds fall
piling round his boots…
