Living Deep Within

Post by jhanke » Thu Sep 30, 2004 4:27 pm

Living Deep Within

Your eyes,
those beautiful eyes
I can see through them
viewing the world
as you do
crying with them
just like you
I am your memory
recalling every time
you've died inside
only hoping no one
can see through you
You hide the scars
so no one asks
they don't need
to know your past
to love you as I do
right now
The angelic smile
you've memorized
doesn't work so well
on me, dear
I can see
deep within it
Do not fear
I will always be
apart of you
living deep within
your heart.

Maybe I should of buried the butterfly instead of picking it apart.

I found the words hard to come by to express how this poem made me feel. I loved it. It meant a lot to me. I am glad that I have you Jen, here as my friend. Those eyes you see with are lightly glassy with the proof of an angelic being within your soul. You look at me Jen and you see the truth. You see what I don't show and you love it still. My refuge...
