Her beautifully whispered words
Still haunt me every day
The flame that unfurled with fury
And the burns that never withered away

I scratched away the painting
Jealousy and rage kept me fueled
Now I’m staring at ribbons of regret
Knowing I was the only one I fooled

She gives me glimpses of memories
And I know they aren’t meant to be
But I’d be fucked before I ever lied
And said I wish it wasn’t with me

I can’t breathe a word of it
For I’ve become a darker breed
I couldn’t bare to be the burden
That pulled her back from whence she freed

So I’ll sit silently screaming for sanity
To come find me once again
As the flames still dance in darkness
I pull on the mask of the comedian
