It isn't too far
By boat or car
We depart next eve
Give this house a heave
You want to stay behind
The stars are misaligned
Without you I'm kaput
A sock without a foot
I read a book of salt
A form without a fault
Words to frame your face
A feeble mind gives chase
Orbiting your sphere
We paused for beer
And retrograde tunes
A pair of aging loons
In the smoking sun
Caress of velvet gun
With flowers on demand
Sweat melting into sand
Packed and heading south
A gift horse in the mouth
With you always beside
Across the subdivide
We'll raise our expectations
On hope and appleseed
Born is a new nation
In soil unspoiled by greed
Caged by candle light
Eyes devour the night
A carriage to convey my love
Rain down from up above
It's not very far
From where we are
Our exit to Eden
Now all odds are even.

rhyming couplets, varying meter... flows very well.
An' it harm none, do what ye will. Blessed Be.
