Simple my temple
For its vastness shatters my calm
Narrow my view
For the serenity of a psalm
No world tames the lion’s heart
Yet the lily loves the breeze
As the mountain falls to the elements
Love brings me to my knees
How lovely those eyes
They burn into my soul
The touch of those gentle hands
Break me, make me whole
The echoes of my chambered life
Storm my hardened heart
Yet your voice like music softens it
Brings light where once was dark
Though the demons rage against me
Though the wolves of hell attack
Though the world about me falls apart
And my heart of glass should break and crack
When I stand within your realm of calm
And you place your hand in mine
My universe just evens out
And my inner light doth shine
And my temple becomes simple once again
