Empty Sheets

The bed, it calls my body near
Where sheets are full of empty space
Loneliness takes over here
Taking careful time to trace
My body sliding soft beneath
The silken feel of empty sheets

Where lovers arms should lie in wait
I'm left to find the pillow case
Which leads my heart to oft' create
Imagined hands to touch my face
As I feel your phantom heat
The loneliness demands retreat

Teardrops grace my pale skin
Wash away the ghosts of you
The void created deep with in
Offers a very special view
Of a heart that cares too much
Yearning for a lovers touch

This is reality that lacks all grace
