This is a poem I wrote two years ago about the beginning of a romance. The romance became a marriage and I'm still deeply in love with the dear man who inspired this little poem. Today is the anniversary of our first phone conversation.
His voice carried me
to words that spoke
of his soul
My heart responded,
articulating
possibilities
in staccato beats.
We spoke until
our respective phones beeped
their exhaustion
Sleep eluded
as I replayed
the conversation,
smiling into my pillow.
Who needs sleep
when love
whispers softly
in the dawn.

Nice write. Glad to hear of a good romance that's still going strong.

Re: Love Whispers
I just love a story with a happy ending. This one is nicely written.
My Pop summed it up well when he said...
"Mike... a woman's love is like the morning dew...
falls on daisies and horse turds just the same".
thanks Pop... which one am I?

I think we've all been there before. It may not have ended up so perfect for everyone, but it's nice to see it put into words.
