When I am old
and the bending river
nears the pools of heaven
as blossoms fall from the trees
My tired flesh will yet rejoice
at every erotic memory
When I am old
and the clocks have unwound
around father time
who now looks a lot like me
Your kiss will still bring a blush
to my skin and a stir in my jeans
When I am old
and a doctor wipes
one last tear from my cheek
as your face comes into view
The last sweet breath that enters my chest
will be filled with the scent of you

Too beautiful ET... too beautiful...
to have such a love... its admirable... makes me and the love I have... had... look so shallow...
And as I watch you in this light
I never realized your eyes were full of
So many colors.

Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly.

One of the most beautiful poems that I've read in a very very long time. I am just jealous that I didn't write this. It is just a stunningly wonderful write.

Simply beautiful, Dennis. The emotion in it is so palpable and the images are so vivid.
If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you. ~ A. A. Milne
