Falling

Post by Tom Watson » Sun Dec 11, 2005 9:14 pm

Fading in memory's mist,
Retreating behind time's woods,
I searched my lips for the kiss;
For wanting to give more than I could...

Dew is drowned by falling rain;
Leaves rustling under falling pain...

The Sun is a visible white
Behind the haze of past years,
Where I reached for a hand, once held tight,
Finding a lonely pillow and pillowcase tears...

Birds silenced by falling rain
Cries echoed in falling pain...

My past gathers, tangled in grey brambles;
Vision confused by swaying grass mounds;
And your voice carries in indistinct mumbles;
Distorting your form with each fading sound...

I remain behind in the falling rain
My heart eternally soaked with falling pain...

I recall laughter, the warmth of you;
Scents still rustle through this space;
And lost chances leave nothing to do;
Quick corner glances fail to reveal your fading face...

So, here you will find me, walking in the falling rain;
Waiting for your return to catch my falling pain...

Wow, my heart felt this one. It's amazing how love can bring both joy and pain immeasurable. Sometimes I have to wonder if that saying "It is better to have love and lost then never loved at all" is true. I can still remember the pain of losing my very first love in adolescence after all these years.

Great write. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. - Deborah

WOW... this is so beautiful... I was right there... walking behind you, like a shadow... experiencing your tears and your pain... walking with you through your memories...

Beautiful Tom... Absolutely well written... :bow: :bow: :bow:
And as I watch you in this light
I never realized your eyes were full of
So many colors.

Deborah, :angel: Debbie, Friend and Angeleyes,
After all of this time to come across your kindness
Was a joy and embarassment that I failed to reply
With my gratitude for your gentleness, bringing a tear to my eye.

A time to remember...
A lost chance to forget...
From the time of joy in December,
My journey to April's loss is set...
