Rear-view Mirror
Rear-view Mirror
From time to time
I think of you...
my heart hurts
for what could have been.
But then again
it may not have been
the ideal that I imagine.
Yet still I hope
someday
that our hearts embrace
and share once again
the passion still reflected
in the rear-view mirror.

it seems meloncholy, the duality in which the good gains some intense quality the bad. ending in a sphere of universal beauty. O hail to untainted beatrice. there was more, it escapes me at the moment. nicely done.

This poem is literal and figurative, of course.![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Rear-view Mirror
It was short and simple... sweet and melancholy... beautiful in every line... exceptional at the beginning. Even better at the end.
aimed with angry art,
words can sting like all things
but it's silence that breaks the heart

Re: Rear-view Mirror
This hits way too close to home for me. You were taking up residence in my head again, weren't you, Carol?
It's a wonderful poem and very easy to relate to. I love it! ![Grin ](./images/smilies/217.gif)

Good poem nekot. It's almost like you wrote that poem so I didn't have to. It definitely touches home for me.
