Gald you found this gem by debab, Heinz and bumped it up.
A pure joy to read debab, captured the essence of the sea in myth and tangible observation. In curious passsing I note that the ancients almost always had the sea under the aegis of male gods but we modern descendents almost always refer to the sea as 'she'. Personally I like the idea of polytheistic avatars. They appear to be a lot more interesting then our more recent incarnations of God.
