Separate Paths
that subtle inclination
dire in the past
where tears rage
Only wanting that hope
yet too many ghosts jeer
in haunting glee
shattered like glass
those reflections
cold to the touch
bitter...
hardened....
jaded....
knowing that what was meant to be
somehow
no longer exists
for you and me
we walk our separate paths
and in that
lessons are learned
dire in the past
where tears rage
Only wanting that hope
yet too many ghosts jeer
in haunting glee
shattered like glass
those reflections
cold to the touch
bitter...
hardened....
jaded....
knowing that what was meant to be

Certain People
Certain people
wonder why I get so passionate
about things like
the homeless,
the poor,
the disadvantaged
yet those same people want to call
certain American programs akin to communism,
don't they know the difference
between communism and socialism?
didn't Jesus go out of his way to help
the poor, the sick, the handicapped?
didn't Jesus say
help your brother as if he
were your own family?
where's the compassion in this world today?
where's the kindness that's needed?
where's the love that's wanted?
where's the wisdom that Jesus taught?
and where's the common sense that we need within our lives?
does someone need to show that reflection
of what we are...
instead of what we pretend to be?
or does the truth need to slap us in the face
to make us realize that we're only wearing masks
within the real world
Ask yourself
and think about
what's really needed
to survive

Eclectic Memories
to touch
that which
becomes unexpected
that recollection
where eons
pass by and smile
eclectic memories
hanging on
by a moment
varied in
imagination
where
nothing seems to make sense
but yet
logic
remains
on a fine wire
revealing
something
brand new

becomes unexpected

Wolf Vs Man
snarling
Howling
growling
wolves
prime on the hunt
the call of the night
surviving on what they can in nature
not always a friend to man
mainly misunderstood by man
Why?
assumptions made
man encroaches in wild habitat
wolf adapts
whether mans wants him to or not
so man fears
what you fear you have tendency to kill
generally without learning why
But then isn't that always the case?
Maybe he should

Wild Woods
wild woods
raging within that wilderness
where life emerges
a breeze
flows through my hair
and somehow
it energies me
Why?
maybe I feel
the spirits
that live here
birds chattering
amongst themselves
conversations
understood only
by themselves
yes we still
feel their presence
and we honor you

Current Of Time
Serenaded
within that whisper
where echoes touch
in the wind
clouds reach
in the horizon
rainbows found
just beyond the rain
fingers of fog
reach where it can
and in the calm
a smile finds
what it needs
where a current of time
celebrates that simple
memory

where echoes touch
in the wind
clouds reach

Sandstone Reaches
Sandstone reaches
found on the horizon
where Anasazi spirits roam
and if one listens
wisdom can be heard
drum beats sound in the sunset
southwest mountains
and deserts
sacred spirits rise
where horizons reach to the sun
watch for the wind
new paths
where in one looks
truth is somehow found
paths of the soul
whispers
in that value of silence
reach into the clouds
and find what you can

Day Dreams
day dreams
held past that imaginary line
whispers that somehow speaks to one
rivulets of memories
pouring like a river
embracing what will be
glistening glimmerings
eternal findings
illuminations
risen past that knowledge
currents of changes
promised within that beginning
bearings of miracles
held in simple pleasure
resonance in answers
where passion
finds a revelation in truth
held past that imaginary line
whispers that somehow speaks to one
rivulets of memories

Desire Found
desire found
in that completion
where your eyes
smile
I smell the vanilla
in your perfume
I taste your kiss
your tongue encircles mine
I feel your desire
as we complete our needs
I feel your arms
rhythms touch
in your laughter
circles sing within our hearts
and yet we find what we need
waking up in each others arms
in the morning
in that completion
where your eyes
smile
I smell the vanilla
in your perfume
I taste your kiss
your tongue encircles mine
I feel your desire
as we complete our needs
I feel your arms

Water Flowing
water flowing
starting with a trickle
then later comes a small steam
amongst the hillside
then a steam runs into another stream
clay red
like blood
stream finally meets
a river
on the edge of a canyon
on where it begins its journey
to meet other rivers
and onward they flow
through the desert
through the forest
through the plains
onto the delta
where it meets the gulf
and finally the ocean
starting with a trickle
then later comes a small steam

Billowing Clouds
Billowing clouds
rising into the horizon
where they fold into layers of grey
listen
can you hear the thunder
in the distance?
and then
here comes the rain
welcomed by the parched earth
which hasn't seem a drop
in months
finally one can quench
their thirst
but somehow
that's life for ya
rising into the horizon
where they fold into layers of grey
listen
can you hear the thunder
in the distance?
and then
here comes the rain
welcomed by the parched earth
which hasn't seem a drop

Nature At Her Best
sandstone
blood red in the canyons
tall sage brush
full in bloom
white tailed deer
in the edge of the aspen
coyotes yipping on the horizon
the Green river or The Colorado
flowing full in the springtime
maybe a herd of antelope
in the distance
all one has to do is look
to find nature
at her best
sandstone cliffs
where eagles soar
old Anasazi ruins
where a people once lived
and if you look
maybe you'll find an arrowhead or two
if you keep walking on an old trail
you'll see
prehistoric dinosaur tracks
and in the distance
just after the rain
a beautiful rainbow
no telling what you'll find
if you keep your eyes open
blood red in the canyons
tall sage brush
full in bloom
white tailed deer
in the edge of the aspen
coyotes yipping on the horizon
the Green river or The Colorado

Eternal Breath
Those southern winds
with that subtle train of thought
midnight sun
held in a whisper
where if by chance
memories flow
and dance
celebrated in that crux of time
Can you hear that simple call
where in those moments
seasons smile
within those wisps
evoked howls
sing by a light of the moon
eternal breath
finds what it needs
in currents
of echoes
gurgling within the laughter
with that subtle train of thought
midnight sun
held in a whisper
where if by chance
memories flow
and dance
celebrated in that crux of time

within those wisps

Footprints Of The Past
Granite dreams
held beside sandstone arches
where quartz glimmers
find that rhythm in nature
where prehistoric footprints
rise from the past
and petrified wood
remains from prehistoric forests
that rages
years ago
wind and water
shape stone of the mountains
that had arisen
eons ago
the divide of
the Rocky Mountains
smile in the
long horizon
and what was
remains in the soil
long ago
held beside sandstone arches
where quartz glimmers
find that rhythm in nature
where prehistoric footprints
rise from the past
and petrified wood
remains from prehistoric forests
that rages
years ago

Circles Of Seasons
Settled through that
honored wind
where a crisp breeze
finds a memory
sheltered in a heart of time
Could it be
through that whisper
somehow we find a purity?
where answers flow
like honey
within the spring
those circles of seasons
walk softly
and the wisdom of nature
reveals
all her secrets
those rhythms
carry one away
in a simple simplicity
honored wind
where a crisp breeze
finds a memory
sheltered in a heart of time
Could it be
through that whisper
somehow we find a purity?
where answers flow
like honey
within the spring
those circles of seasons
walk softly
and the wisdom of nature
reveals
all her secrets
those rhythms
carry one away
in a simple simplicity
