In death my body trembles
As it fights its need to breathe
Inside this shell I tidy up
As I prepare to leave
I look back o'er my small abode
Now dark where once was light
Then through open eyes I sail away
As I bid this world goodnight
Gone now is the weight of ages
Never more to burden me
Gone now are those rusty cages
That imprisoned me in misery
Up I fly on lofty wings
No more this dirty world to tread
I swell with bliss, my spirit sings
I live again though I am dead
My love, if only you could see me
Your tears would dry, no more to cry
You’d leave your shell in all its hell
And to the heavens we would fly
Fear not death, there is no reaper
Come to me my love so true
Our love in death grows deeper, deeper
Heavens rose, my love, for you.
