The spirit came upon me
As I opened up the book
I felt it take its place in me
As I took another look
I felt its gentle presence
I heard its soothing voice
In the moments that I falter
I now know I have a choice
The book is strong in spirit
It soothes my troubled soul
It takes my broken pieces
Repairs them, makes me whole
The book has been my pillar
My foundation and my shield
As evil comes against me
I can stand and will not yield
Between those sacred covers
Though the binding's cracked and worn
Those precious words within it
Gave me strength to be reborn
Now the spirit lives within me
As a guide to see me through
I would like to share this book
So the spirit lives in you
Oh mighty Lord, my God, my savior
Thank you for this book
Your word is life and spirit filled
Through ages it has shook
The hearts of all who read it
The souls of those in need
Love this living Bible
